Junior Achievement is passionate about teaching kids the economics of life.
The dynamic interaction between the volunteer and the students promotes active learning and brings theory to life. JA's unique approach integrates program materials, trainings, and support.
What You Can Do...
1) The first way is to teach one of JA’s classic in-school programs to 3rd graders or high school students. By donating 45 minutes of time for 5-10 weeks, volunteers help JA become a successful bridge between education and business. A thorough training prepares volunteers to enter the classroom and teach JA programs.
2) Another way is to participate as a one-day volunteer in one of JA’s new learning labs. Students learn hands-on lessons concerning bank accounts, balanced budgets, commerce and paychecks. All this, in a fun learning atmosphere. After a training session, volunteers guide the students through their day at the learning labs.
The Impact Through the efforts of our volunteers and sponsors, Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana served more than 44,000 students in Metro Louisville, Southern Indiana, and the Louisville surrounding counties during the 2008/2009 school year.
Volunteer! If you're not involved yet, there's no better way to help shape the future of Kentuckiana. For more information, call 502-561-KIDS (5437)!
